Özdemir Yemenicioğlu was born in Balıkesir in 1948. After High School, he began  to work as an employee at  the Satate Office of  Fine Art Gallery in Balıkesir. But painting was his essential work.

            At this Office he found the chance of meeting many artists and seeing the panaroma of painting art in Turkey. That was the chance of analysing and the chance of self teaching. He never interrupted his studying and working in painting. He interested in every material of paintings, he made his canevas, he made his oils.  And naturally he continued painting while he worked at the State Office. And  he had benefitted a scholarship given by Australian Government in 1986 for Salzburg Summer Academy. And there, he worked with Raimund Girke. In 1991, he went again to Salzburg Summer Academy, and then he worked with Jurgen Bötcher Strawalde. He is now continuing his painting studies in Balıkesir  at his workshop.
